The in-water-only display presentation covers more than 1.2 million square feet of space over a mile-long strip of Indian Creek Waterway, featuring over 500 new and pre-owned vessels valued at more than a billion dollars. This Miami boat show is in the heart of beautiful Miami Beach on Indian Creek Waterway at Collins Avenue (S.R. A1A) – from 41st to 51st Streets.

What this means to visitors is that most of the waterfront and marinas around Miami and Miami Beach fill up with a wide array of craft of all sizes and types. For visitors interested in navigating the different venues in other than private or chauffeured cars, shuttles connect the different sites.

Eclipse 550 Economics

Is Eclipse on the rise? It certainly seems that way as their latest models being introduced start saving consumers money before they even own one. With basic efficiencies in the manufacturing process, manufacturing hours have been greatly reduced. Eclipse also uses Friction Stir Welding instead of the traditional manufacturing process of riveting which has allowed EAI to significantly reduce (by 1600 man hours per aircraft) the build time to complete the aircraft. Fuel consumption is only 59 gallons per hour, so in reality all you purchase is just twice as much gas as a large SUV on a trip from Sacramento, CA to Charleston, SC, but you travel at 425 mph while doing so.

Efficiency seems to be the essence of the Eclipse product. Innovation is a necessary component of efficiency and it seems that Eclipse Aerospace has begun to bring the most innovative minds in aviation together to produce a jet that is less expensive to build, purchase and operate than any other twin-engine jet on the planet.

Kudos to the guys at Eclipse!

French wine house Moët & Chandon has released 11 limited edition half cases of its 1911 Grand Vintage Collection, marking the champagne’s century-old maturation.

Each half case will include six bottles of Grand Vintage Collection 1911, and will be on display in one of Harrods’ Christmas windows in London over the festive period.

Even at the time of its harvest a century ago, the 1911 vintage was acclaimed by champagne experts of the era. Since then it has been conserved under optimum ageing conditions in the chateau’s cellars, before the bottles were disgorged earlier this year.

Moët & Chandon Chef de Cave, Benoît Gouez, said: “After one hundred years, Grand Vintage Collection 1911 literally overflows with vitality and energy, plus the charm of discreet bubbles.

“A wonderfully complex wine with both impressive depth and amazing freshness, an unrivalled champagne experience!”

The limited edition champagne is available exclusively at Harrods, priced at £65,000 ($100,000).

From an ancient pool near the Dead Sea to the picturesque American West, join us on a world tour of the most stunning spots to take a dip.

In the world of spa treatments, it all goes back to water-and travel. After all, the word “spa” itself comes from Spa, Belgium, a popular watering spot back in the 1600s. In the centuries since, cultures all over the globe turned to natural, mineral-rich waters to treat a wide array of concerns, from the medical (sinus issues, muscle and joint pain) to cosmetic (skin clarity, psoriasis). The ancient Romans turned soaking into an art form-and a part of daily life-and as the Roman Empire grew, baths known as thermae were established wherever mineral springs were discovered. Over the years, many of these ancient hot spring towns grew into wellness resorts, particularly once European doctors started recommending “water cures” in the 18th century. With so many steamy spots to choose from in the world, we’ve narrowed our list down to natural hot, mineral, and geothermal springs in historic, picturesque locations, including two right here in the U.S. Here are some of the prettiest places to jump in and say “ahhh.”

1. Szechenyi Bath, Budapest, Hungary

Drinking the water is as healing as soaking in it.

Ancient Celtic settlers were the first to make use of the therapeutic waters (they named the area Ak-Ink, or “ample water”), followed by the Romans, who built the first official baths and re-dubbed the place Aquincum. Though the bathing culture continued through centuries of Hungarian and Turkish rule, the traditions floundered in the 18th century-until the re-discovery of some thermal springs in the 1800s. A scientific interest in the benefits led to the construction of some of the city’s most famous bathhouses, some which remain today.

The Benefits: The thermal waters are rich in a variety of minerals, including fluoride, calcium, hydro-carbonate, sodium, magnesium, sulphate, and metabolic acid. The combination has proved effective in treating chronic arthritis and other joint illnesses and orthopedic issues. The water from drinking wells is also high in similar minerals, and is good for treating gastric ulcers and various internal inflammations.

How to Soak: There are enough mineral springs under the city of Budapest to feed more than 50 public baths and pools, numerous private spas, and countless drinking fountains. We suggest the stunning Szechenyi Bath, which opened in 1913. The complex includes three large outdoor pools, heated to varying degrees, plus several pools with jets and waterfalls, saunas, and spots for aqua-aerobics and other therapies. szechenyibath.com; entrance fee from $12.50.

2. Banff Upper Hot Springs, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada

Soak in the Rockies at this national park.

Surrounded by dramatic alpine views, these hot springs in western Canada were considered a sacred healing site by the area’s native residents. In 1882, workers building the Canadian Pacific Railway happened upon two of the spring pools at the base of Sulphur Mountain-and the news quickly spread. The first European visitors arrived in 1884, and two years later construction on a bathhouse begun. The Banff Upper Hot Springs bathhouse, completed in the mid-1930s, has been declared a protected Heritage Building.

The Benefits: Located at 5,200 feet above sea level, Canada’s highest natural springs are rich in key minerals like sodium, magnesium, bicarbonate, calcium and sulfate, which have skin healing and muscle-relaxing properties. Despite their long journey from the center of the earth, these waters are also the hottest in the Rocky Mountain range, clocking in at up to a muscle-warming 104 degrees.

How to Soak: The Banff Upper Hot Springs complex-which includes one large pool and a bathhouse-is located about a mile and a half south of the town center, and is accessible by public Banff Roam Bus service; buses run every 40 minutes. The pool is fed by water directly from the spring source, which lies in a protected part of the National Park. www.hotsprings.ca, $7.30 entrance fee.

3. Ma’In Hot Springs, Jordan

A spa with biblical roots.

Like those of their neighbor, the Dead Sea, the healing powers of these desert oasis springs are biblical: King Herod would travel here often for medical treatment and legend has it that Salome did her famous dance in his nearby villa. Since then, kings, queens, and commoners of all types have come to enjoy the hot and cold springs, many of which tumble down from picturesque waterfalls.

The Benefits: Known locally as Hammamat Ma’in, the springs originate from winter rainfalls in Jordan’s highland plains. As the water makes its way through the Wadi Zarqa Ma’in valley, underground lava fissures help heat them (temps range from 104 to 145 degrees) and infuse them with skin-healing minerals like hydrogen sulfide, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Stand under one of the hyperthermal waterfalls for a natural deep-tissue massage.

How to Soak: The springs are located in a desert valley near the Dead Sea, about 866 feet below sea level; it’s around a 20-minute drive from the town of Madaba and one hour from capital city Amman. The public bathing complex at Hammamat Ma’in includes Roman baths at the base of a waterfall (visitjordan.com; $14 entrance fee). The facility is popular with local families and can get crowded on weekends. For a more private experience, check-in to the Evason Ma’In Hot Springs resort next door, where guests enjoy after-hours entry to the main springs, as well as access to falls and pools located on the hotel grounds. (011-962-5-324-5500; sixsenses.com/Evason-Ma-In; from $207 per night).

4. Blue Lagoon, Iceland

The scenery, and the effects, are otherworldly.

A heating company formed the lagoon (which holds 1.5 million gallons of sea- and freshwater) to explore geothermal heating methods in the late 1970s. By 1981, people were bathing in the lagoon-and noticing marked improvements in skin conditions. The site became a popular tourist attraction, with official public facilities opening in 1987 and a full spa in 1999.

The Benefits: With its volcanic rocks, electric green moss, and steaming waters, the area around the Blue Lagoon looks like something from another planet. Fans of the waters agree that the results are otherworldly. High amounts of silica help exfoliate skin, strengthen its barrier function, and heal inflammation, while minerals from the seawater revitalize skin. Microorganisms found here also help reduce signs of UV damage and stimulate collagen production. Skin care products made with the therapeutic waters make great souvenirs.

How to Soak: The facility, 40 minutes from the center of Reykjavik, includes steam baths, sauna, relaxation areas, and lagoon pools. Enjoy the massaging waterfalls and lather on some pure geothermal silica mud (provided free of charge). In-water massages and other spa treatments are available for an additional fee. bluelagoon.com; $39 entrance fee.

5. Arenal Hot Springs, Costa Rica

Where the volcano views are as stunning as the waters are relaxing.

Costa Rica is home to six active volcanoes and 61 more that are dormant or extinct. Thanks to all this geothermal activity, the country also boasts several hot springs sites, most notably around the Arenal Volcano in the northwest. Technically still active (it’s said to be “resting”), Arenal’s heat and minerals infuse streams that flow through the marshes and grasslands at its base. Several hotels offer access to the springs, but the original-and the gold standard-is the Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort, opened in 1993.

The Benefits: Tabacón’s hot springs are 97 percent rainwater that has sunk to the earth’s core and been heated, and the remaining three percent is magma-based. As the mixture rises back to the surface, it brings with it the minerals imbedded in the earth. The springs are naturally heated to a muscle-relaxing 77 to 122 degrees and the high levels of hydrothermal flora and fauna strengthen the skin’s defense system and repair surface damage. Even better, the springs are low in sulfur. Meaning you won’t stink after taking a dip.

How to Soak: If staying at the luxury resort is not in the budget, buy a day pass to enjoy the dozen mineral pools (including one with thermal water slide and another with a swim-up bar), three thermal waterfalls, and sweeping volcano views. tabacon.com; from $60 for a day pass.

To hear village manager Frances Higgins tell it, Chevy Chase Section Five, one of seven small municipalities spanning Maryland and Washington, D.C., isn’t much different from many other pieces of American suburbia. Nice homes, friendly neighbors, tree lined streets and an annual summer block party in the middle of town.

The one thing that does make Section Five different: no other town or city in America enjoys a higher median household income (excepting Westlake, Texas, home of the Jonas Brothers and various business bigwigs, which is virtually tied with Chevy Chase Section Five).

The tiny town has enjoyed a rapid ascent. Twelve years ago, the median household income in Section Five, home to 640 people, was estimated by the Census Bureau at just over $150,000. Today the number stands at $250,000. Higgins points to the growing popularity among lawyers, engineers, government officials and high powered lobbyists who do business in D.C.

“I think we have more lawyers per square inch than anyone,” Higgins half-jokes.

Another Chevy Chase locale not far behind Section Five: Somerset, Maryland, an incorporated town in Montgomery County that stands as one of Washington’s ritziest suburbs. Median income is just over $240,000. Another Dallas enclave makes the cut too: Highland Park town, home to seven figure houses and median household income of $228,106.

We derived America’s wealthiest locales from the Census Bureau’s latest American Community Survey, released in December 2011, which measures median household income as of the end of 2010. The survey breaks down the country into more than 29,000 cities, towns, villages and what the Census Bureau calls CDPs (Census Designated Place – a small area within a larger town or city with no local government of its own but which otherwise resembles a town). We stuck with those areas where the Census Bureau’s reported margin of error falls within its survey-wide margin of error of 29% (if that number seems high, it’s because higher error margins in many small villages lift the overall average higher.

The hustle and crowds of places like New York, Dallas and D.C. don’t appeal to everyone. But with enough money, your own little escape is right in the neighborhood.

5. Oyster Bay Cove, New York
Median household income: $246,987

Overlooking Long Island Sound on the island’s north shore. Theodore Roosevelt, whose nearby Sagamore Hill home served as the summer White House during the early 20th century, is buried in a private cemetery off a local road.

4. Plandome Village, New York
Median household income: $248,036

Image: Forbes
Historic Long Island village has counted Boomer Esiason, Bill O’Reilly and Bobby Riggs among its residents, which now number about 1,300. The posh Plandome Country Club dates back to 1931.

3. Coldstream CDP, Ohio
Median household income: $249,750

Image: Forbes
Small, upscale section of Anderson Township in Cincinnati, centered by one of America’s most prestigious country clubs.

2. Westlake town, Texas
Median household income: $250,000

Image: Forbes
Home to 702 people 34 miles northwest of Dallas. The plush town includes homes owned by Texas Rangers owner Chuck Greenberg, former Exxon Mobile CEO Lee Raymond, and the Jonas Brothers.

1. Chevy Chase Section Five village, Maryland
Median household income: $250,000

Image: Forbes
A very small (one-tenth of a square mile) incorporated village within Chevy Chase. Section Five currently holds 640 people; the median home price is just over a million dollars. Average income is up 63% since 2000.

A Boeing 787 jet took corporate loyalty to new heights when it “drew” the letters “787″ followed by the company’s logo across several thousand miles of North American skies. The etching of the letters and logo, while not visible from the ground, can be seen in the flight path plans.
“Boeing’s 19 hour test flight of the 787 Dreamliner was a great opportunity to test the limits of the 787, FlightAware’s flight tracking, and the FAA’s flight plan system,” FlightAware Chief Executive Officer Daniel Baker tells Yahoo News. “It was the longest domestic flight we’ve ever handled and it required three FAA flight plans to accomplish, not to mention dozens of people coordinating the flight overnight.”
FlightAware, which provides live flight tracking, coordinated with Boeing on delivering the unusual and spectacular images.

In the above image, you can see the 787 Dreamliner’s flight path, which was first reported by Gizmodo. The flight path was meticulously designed and coordinated with airports across the country in or to avoid violating restricted airspace.

“This wasn’t a joy ride,” wrote Boeing’s vice president of marketing Randy Tinseth on the company’s blog. “It was an 18 hour Maximum ETOPS (Extended Operations) Duration flight test for a 787-8 with GE engines. Our team coordinated with the many air traffic control centers, choosing the routing to avoid restricted airspace. In the end, the flight covered over 9,000 nautical miles.” The path stretched between Iowa and Washington State.

Boeing conducted another sky drawing back in August, reports Wired, when the 747-8 Freighter outlined a “747″ over several states. The BBC reported on the Dreamliner’s maiden commercial voyage last October, traveling from Tokyo to Hong Kong.

It’s an exciting time for air travel enthusiasts. Billionaire developer Paul Allen recently unveiled designs for his company’s Stratosphere plane, which is designed to take passengers on commercial voyages above Earth’s orbit.

Sell your house, your pets, some superfluous organs and the superfluous organs of others: a Lamborghini Reventon has come up for sale.

Remember it? Of course you do. It’s the 6.5-litre, V12 powered 650bhp ode to everything that Lamborghini stands for. Carbon fibre excess? Check. Big, hugely intimidating and shouty body? Check. Raucous engine note capable of spontaneously combusting nearby wildlife? Check.

This particular one is being offered by Surrey-based SuperVettura car sales, and is reported as being car number 18; that’s 18 from a build run of just 20, remember, originally destined for “Lamborghini friends and collectors”. No word on who the previous owner might be, but our man from SuperVettura tells us that owner has a collection of “these types of vehicles”, and also owns the UK’s only Reventon Roadster. It’s not our good friend and Lamborghini aficionado Jay Kay, before you scream into your keyboard, though he was once shown a Reventon…

It’s covered just 1,000 miles since its 2008 registration, and as you’ll no doubt remember, features that luscious V12 lifted straight from the Murcielago. In this guise, it produces 650bhp and 487lb ft of torque, and is capable of a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of over 211mph.

The price? A bargain at just £849,950. Says Tom Wareham from SuperVettura: “The car is simply exquisite, encompassing everything Lamborghini and the bull stands for.” Quite.

Peak Season – Christmas – March; June – August
During the height of winter, Aspen is at its busiest. This is especially the case during the Christmas-New Year holiday week when vacancies are few, top-tier lodging prices go astronomical and reservations must be secured months in advance. Other than Christmas, President’s Day week, and late January, when Aspen hosts ESPN’s Winter X games, choice rooms can usually be found with a few weeks notice. Early- through mid-January offers good snow and less-crowded slopes. February through early-March is busier with kids on spring break. Winter highs average in the 30s and lows dip toward single digits, but this is Colorado. Weather gods here can fling anything at you from sunny warmth to bitter cold any time of the season. Summers in Aspen can be just as crowded and almost as expensive as winters. While rooms may be secured on short notice, reservations a week or two in advance are advised, especially around Independence Day. Summer temperatures tend to be quite pleasant, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s. Blue-sky mornings and afternoon thunderstorms are common. While shorts and T-shirts are appropriate daywear, a sweater or light jacket may be needed after dark.

Off-Season – Mid-April – Memorial Day; Mid-October – Thanksgiving
Locals call these two time periods “mud seasons.” In the spring, the ski areas close, and melting snow leaves hillsides slushy. The town seemingly dies, with store owners and top chefs often escaping on end-of-season, sanity-retrieving vacations. The town-emptying phenomena repeats itself in late autumn after the leaves have fallen and early snowfalls once again turn hillsides slushy. For those who want to taste caviar luxury at meat-and-potato prices, spring or fall mud seasons offers an ideal time to visit Aspen. Lodging rates in top hotels drop to about a third what they are during the height of winter. Restaurant reservations are seldom needed, and merchant closeout sales abound. It may not be the prettiest time of year and the weather may be cold and blustery, but mud season provides a rare opportunity to sample the best for less.

Shoulder Season – Late-March – Early-April; September – Mid-October; Thanksgiving – Christmas
Aspen sports three distinct “shoulder seasons.” The final weeks before the lifts close provide an ideal time to go skiing. Crowds are miniscule, slopes are often at their deepest, temperatures tend to be warm, the snow soft and mushy, and bargains abound. Lodging can go for half what it would be at season’s max.A decade or two ago, lodging rates immediately plunged to low-season levels right after Labor Day, but this is not the case anymore. Hotel owners discovered that hillsides gilded with the mustard-yellow leaves of autumn-tinged trees bring in enough leaf-peepers to fill their beds. Still, it’s a great time to visit. The town isn’t crowded, the weather is typically temperate and lodging deals can sometimes be found on short notice. Best of all, the hillsides shimmer at their Midas-touched best. Pre-Christmas skiing days provide a final shoulder season. Lifts typically open Thanksgiving Day with a few runs covered by largely hose-blown snow. Lodging can be cheap and lift tickets go at a discount, which is good. The bad is that with little terrain open, side-winding beginners must share trails with Kamikaze straight-liners. Like minivans in a NASCAR race, the dichotomy can lead to unpleasant confrontations.

“Thanks to the stunning work of our R&D team, TAG Heuer will set once more a milestone in the history of watch making,” is what is to be expected with the new Formula 1 series that is to be launched in Geneva January 16.

Pre-Basel unveilings have begun to roll out and included is TAG Heuer’s official preview of the 2012 Formula 1 Series of watches. As an integral part of the F1 circuit, the watch brand does its best to present a line of watches that hope to embody the fast-paced action that only the world’s most technically advanced race cars feats can provide. The Ronda provided movements manifesting over three separate models – the Chronograph, Alarm and Watch – with a further distinction through stainless steel, titanium and ceramic casings. Once the entry-level offering from TAG Heuer, each subsequent season of the brand has looked to boost the quality and design of the Formula 1 Series range.

The first series of Formula 1 was created back in ’85 when Heuer was joined with Techniques d’Avant Garde (“TAG”). Heuer was dealing with disaster after disaster while trying to make it in the watch industry. With the combination of the two, they became one of the biggest names in Swiss watches.

The first generation F1 watches were designed by Eddy Burgener and used an innovative case construction; a mixture of a stainless steel inner case coated with Fiberglass.

Despite the success of the Formula 1, the series was to discontinue back in 2000. It wasn’t because people weren’t buying the piece; the company thought the style and design was no longer the latest fashion in watches. Out with the old in and with the new is what the company was getting at with this decision.

After a 4 year break, the Formula 1 returned to the public with an entirely new design and upgraded materials. The series had an entirely new look, but what did not change was the shape of the case and bezel. Both are similar to the original Formula 1 pieces. The Series 3 Formula 1 has a 40mm case, which is a more up-to date size compared to the previous versions that were only 34mm.

The watch was for the man how worked 9-5 in the office and on the weekends hit the mountain for some biking or skiing. It was modern, trendy, and youthful. Exactly how the company wanted the public to think of them.

20 different designs are in the new Formula 1 series, all are going to be launched this year at the watch show in Geneva. All have a broad range of bezels, including brushed stainless steel, aluminum, ceramic and titanium-carbide. Things to look for on the piece are titanium-carbide “Full Black” stealth Formula 1 and for the first time ever in the series, there is both ceramic and steel version to choose from.

A simpler brushed stainless steel guard has replaced the titanium-carbide from past models, yet the new addition as the similar design as previous pieces. The design of the button at the end of the spindle, or the crown, was taken from the Grand Carrera series. So regardless of the new additions the piece can still be recognized by Formula 1 lovers.

Jean Christopher Babin, president and CEO of TAG Heuer, is promising a game-changing new regulator, breaking all high- frequency records. All there is to do now is to wait and see what happens in Geneva.
